Abstract:

Topological pressure is one of the important tools of thermodynamic formalism. It is used in the study of ergodic properties of chaotic dynamical systems in many different contexts. In my talk I will describe how the pressure can be used to study geometric properties of some invariant sets appearing in the iteration theory of holomorphic mappings of the complex plane.
