Abstract

Working in IBM Research gives one an opportunity to meet with numerous specialists form various domains. One of the many advantages of this is an exposition to real applied mathematics - mathematics that solves actual problems that really exist and are actually worth money to the industry. In my talk I will describe my recent work I did with people from Machine Learning / Data Mining community and my constantly evolving insights on what is mathematics useful for in a real world.
