Abstract

In this talk we will discuss the concept of type of an attracting cycle of a degree 2 orientation preserving covering map of the circle. We will also discuss how, under certain circumstances, this type may also be defined for more general degree 2 maps of the circle, leading to the concept of extended tongue.
