Abstract

In 1980 Cherkas and Mieussens showed (independently) that any limit cycle of a quadratic system of differential equations on the plane can be joined to a Hopf bifurcation. In this talk I will describe joint work with André Zegeling in which we show that any two cycles, belonging to different quadratic systems perhaps but having the same orientation, can be joined to one another.
