Abstract:

We shall present an example supporting the view that to understand the global behavior of polynomial vector fields, normal forms and bifurcation diagrams with respect to them are simply insufficient. One needs to go beyond normal forms, to the group actions and their quotient spaces and to bifurcation diagrams independent of normal forms.
