Abstract:

In this talk we will explain an article of C. L. Petersen and G. Ryd. Convergence of rational rays in parameter spaces. The Mandelbrot set, theme and variations, 161-172 London Math. Soc. Lecture Note Ser. 274, Cambridge Univ. Press (2000). The authors give an elementary proof of the Landing Theorem for rational external rays of the Multibrot set. The proof is quite general and applies with marginal changes to numerous other families with one free critical point.
