Abstract:

We present some results regarding configurations of Herman rings for transcendental meromorphic functions (TMF). In particular, we prove that a configuration which is realizable by a rational map is also realizable by a TMF of finite type. The technique used in the proof of this result might be of interest in its own right: We explain how to glue an essential singularity to a rational map without destroying the configuration.
