Abstract

Some problems and results will be discussed which are concerned with the bifurcation of limit cycles in planar autonomous systems that are small perturbations of systems with a first integral. Such things as Fuchsian systems, Abelian integrals, Melnikov functions and the Chebyshev property of appropriate function spaces are the main tools in the field.
