Abstract

Let $f$ be a continuous map from a compact metric space into itself. We define a generalized type of horsehoes created by $m$ nondisjoint closed sets. We show that such a horseshoe implies ′almost′ shift on $m$ symbols and that topological entropy of $f$ given by that horseshoe is $log\; m$.
