Abstract:
In this talk we present the paper "Wandering gaps for weakly hyperbolic polynomials" by Alexander Blokh and Lex Oversteegen. Thurston proved the "No Wandering Triangle Theorem", which states the non-existence of wandering non-precritical branch points of induced maps on quadratic topological Julia sets. Blokh and Oversteegen proved that the No Wandering triangle Theorem does not extend to higher degrees. The goal of this talk is to present their paper, focusing on the construction of cubic laminations that they use.
